Upon arrival, we will pick you up at Palermo’s Falcone-Borsellino Airport and take you to our cozy 4-star B&B in the historic center.
After some time to relax, we’ll gather for a delightful welcome dinner. Our chef will introduce us to the rich traditions of Sicilian cuisine with a festive spread of flavors from across the island.
We’ll enjoy every bite paired with exquisite regional wines, setting the tone for an unforgettable cooking vacation in Sicily.
Day 2: Street Food Tour And First Cooking Class in Palermo
On the beautiful garden terrace, we’ll start our day with a lovely homemade breakfast featuring traditional Sicilian sweets and savory delights.
Energized for the day ahead, we’ll explore Palermo’s street food scene on an unfiltered tour, diving deep into the traditional food culture.
Later, we’ll meet our chef for our first hands-on cooking class. In this class, an “Introduction to Sicilian Traditions,” we’ll make arancine, caponata, polpette di sarde, and the traditional ricotta and candied fruit cake, cassatine for dessert.
After cooking, we’ll sit down to dinner paired with a selection of local Sicilian wines.
Day 3: Market Visit, Second Cooking Class, And Palermo Tour
We’ll meet our chef in the morning at one of Palermo’s oldest markets. Together, we’ll walk through the bustling stalls and shop for fresh ingredients to prepare a 4-course “Delights of the Market” Sicilian lunch.
Back in the kitchen, we’ll prepare dough for sfincione, and make Sicilian classics like pasta con cime di rapa, pesce spada, and Sicilian granita. Along the way, we’ll master tips and techniques to easily recreate the dishes at home.
In the afternoon, we’ll see a different face of Palermo as we learn about the mafia and the city’s anti-mafia movement. On a myth-busting tour, we’ll uncover the stories of the city’s past, the resilience, and efforts to reclaim Palermo’s future.
Dinner will be on your own, allowing you to discover Palermo’s culinary gems at your leisure.
Day 4: Ricotta Cheese Making Olive Oil Tour And Cefalù Visit
After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll head out to Sant’Ambrogio, a picturesque village nestled in the Madonie Mountains with breathtaking coastal views.
After a guided tour exploring the fascinating stories and legends woven into this historic site, we’ll immerse ourselves in tradition with two engaging culinary activities.
On the lower slopes of the mountains, we’ll visit a Sicilian farm and work alongside a shepherd, and learn to make fresh ricotta cheese.
We’ll then continue with a visit to a historic oil mill to learn about Sicilian extra virgin olive oils.
In the seaside town of Cefalù, we’ll stop for lunch, where you can enjoy a delicious seafood meal at your leisure.
Tonight’s dinner in Palermo features the freshest fish and seafood, prepared with a modern twist. We’ll dine at a restaurant that describes itself as a “contemporary Sicilian fish bistro with a feminine soul.”
Day 5: Third Cooking Class And Boat Trip with Aperitivo
In our third cooking class, we’ll expand our repertoire of traditional Sicilian recipes with a focus on a timeless trio “Pane, Pasta e Pomodoro.” We’ll learn to make fresh Sicilian-style pasta, southern Italian-style tomato sauce, and a refreshing Sicilian summer dessert.
Later in the afternoon, we’ll enjoy pure bliss at sea on a private sunset boat trip. We’ll admire the beautiful coastline while indulging in an aperitivo with typical Sicilian appetizers, prosecco, and more.

After an early breakfast, we’ll head west to the Trapani area, a UNESCO Gastronomy City candidate, to immerse ourselves in its rich food and wine culture.
We’ll stop in a little village for the “best cannoli in Sicily” on our way to a guided experience about the history of salt at Natural Salt Pans.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll visit a historic and organic winery for a guided tour and exclusive tasting experience.
We’ll end the day at a Sicilian pizzeria, a local gem where pizza is still made in the traditional way, preserving its authentic flavors.
Day 7: Palermo’s Cultural Traditions and Fourth Cooking Class
Today’s agenda for our cooking holiday in Sicily is an immersion into two of Palermo’s iconic cultural traditions. We’ll visit the Opera dei Pupi, a special puppet theatre recognized by UNESCO for Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Later, we’ll take a guided tour of Teatro Massimo, one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious opera houses. We’ll also get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the artistry behind the production of an opera, a concert, or a ballet.
