Welcome to Crete

Cretan cuisine, often described as the “heart” of the Mediterranean Diet, has ancient roots that can be traced back to the Minoans, one of Europe’s oldest civilizations.
Crete food is simple, 100% seasonal, and it incorporates a lot of vegetables, wild greens, pulses, and cereals alongside copious amounts of extra virgin olive oil.
Chania, the picturesque second-largest city on the island, is our home for this immersive cooking vacation.
We’ll work side by side with a local chef in hands-on cooking classes, discovering how fresh, simple ingredients can create healthy and transformative dishes.
Together, we’ll prepare traditional Cretan delicacies such as kalitsounia, boureki, lamb, snails, and more.
In addition to cooking, we’ll explore Crete’s mountain villages, markets, olive oil, and honey producers and immerse ourselves in the island’s rich wine culture.
We’ll be staying in a private villa, and between activities, you’ll have time to unwind in the private pool or nearby beaches, soaking in the island’s serene beauty.
This Greek cooking vacation is more than a culinary journey—it’s an immersion into the Cretan lifestyle.
It is said that Crete’s greatest treasure is found in its cuisine. And we wholeheartedly agree.
We invite you to join us to experience Crete’s flavors, culture, and traditions on this unforgettable, immersive cooking vacation.

I was not sure what to expect when my wife brought up this immersive cooking excursion. I do not really cook. But I found the cooking classes inviting and not intimidating at all. I participated as much as I wanted and because of this I was able to learn a lot more than I expected. But it was more than just learning to cook like a Cretan. It was adventure in to the Cretan culture and life. We discovered Cretans who are passionate about their life and proud of their Cretan heritage and traditions. If you want to experience the life and love of the Cretan people, this is a trip you should not miss. – Luke, Crete 2025
